it's 1-on-1, there's nowhere for a weak spot to hide and nowhere for a strength to go to
waste. That's the whole point.
What's inside the ACT prep course
When you work with me, you get a private ACT tutor who teaches your student one- on-one, live over Zoom. As your student's online ACT tutor, I build the entire plan around them: their current score, their target, their timeline, and the specific things holding them back. Whether you call it 1-on-1 tutoring, private tutoring, or personalized ACT prep, the promise is the same. One student, one plan, one tutor, and that tutor is always me.
I teach live over Zoom on Mountain Time, so it doesn't matter where you are in the country. And whatever we work on, it's always me on the other side of the screen. Idon't hand students off.

Your student does their best work with individual attention
Some students light up in a room full of people. Others do their sharpest thinking when it's just them and the teacher, with room to ask the "dumb" question, to slow down, to think out loud without an audience. If that's your student, a private ACT tutor isn't a luxury, it's the format that finally lets them show what they can do. The plan bends to how they learn, not the other way around.

Maybe there's a dream school with a real admissions bar. Maybe there's a scholarship cutoff that turns into actual money the day your student clears it. When there's a number that matters, the plan has to be built to hit that number, not just to "improve." In 1-on-1, I reverse-engineer the work from your target.
You need a bigger jump
than a group class delivers.
A group class lifts everyone a healthy amount, and for many students that's exactly right. But if your student is starting further back than they'd like, or reaching for a score that's a real stretch, that kind of jump usually needs individual attention.Big jumps come from precision, not from more of the same.
You need help beyond the ACT
I'm not only an ACT tutor. If your student needs support in high school math or the sciences, an AP course, or an introductory college class, I can help there too. Plenty of families come to me for the ACT and stay for AP Calculus or Chemistry, and plenty come the other way around. If it's a subject I can teach well, we can build the sessions around it.
What I can help with
The ACT (my specialty)
This is the test I know cold. I scored in the 99th percentile, and I've spent ten years teaching every section of it. More important, I teach it conceptually. I don't hand students a stack of tricks to memorize. I show them why the questions work the way they do, so they can walk into a question they've never seen and still know what to do. That's what holds up on test day when the nerves kick in.
High school math and sciences
Algebra, geometry, trigonometry, precalculus, and the sciences underneath them. Whether it's shoring up a grade, getting unstuck on a unit, or building the foundation a strong ACT score sits on, we can work on it directly.
AP courses
AP Calculus, AP Chemistry, and other AP-level work where a student wants both the class grade and a strong exam score. I've helped students through the harder AP sciences and math, and I teach them the same way I teach everything, for real understanding, not just for the next quiz.
Introductory college courses
Making the jump to college-level material is its own challenge. If your student is in an intro college course and wants a steady hand while they find their footing, I can help there too.
Your tutor
Here's what I believe about teaching: memorization runs out. Understanding doesn't. So I don't drill students on hundreds of one-off tricks and hope the right one shows up on test day. I teach the concepts underneath the questions, the actual reasons the math works and the strategy holds, so a student can handle problems we never even practiced.
That's the difference between a score that spikes once and a score a student can repeat. And when you work with me as your private ACT tutor, you work with me. Not an associate, not a rotating bench of tutors, not whoever the company had open that week. Me, every session, start to finish.

I build a personalized plan
After we talk, I put together a plan built around your student's target score and the timeline you're working with. It maps out what we'll cover, in what order, and how we'll get from where your student is now to where they want to be.
We meet regularly, and the plan adapts.
Then we get to work, meeting on a regular schedule over Zoom. As we go, I keep reading where your student is and adjust the plan to match. If something clicks fast, we push ahead. If something needs more time, we give it more time. The plan serves the student, not the other way around.

What the consultation is really about
The consultation is for all of you, parents and student together (both parents welcome. You tell me what's going on: the goal, the struggles, what you've already tried. I'll tell you honestly how I can help, and if I'm not the right fit, I'll tell you that too. No pressure, no scripts.
